Responding to repeated anonymous calls
Identifying and documenting calls can give you clearer information when deciding what to do next.
Start with your safety
If you believe you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Do not engage a caller if doing so may put you at greater risk. Customers have used identified call information to confront abusers, but direct contact is never required and should happen only when it is safe.
Build a useful record
Activate MaskOff before the next call and decline blocked calls so they can be identified. For each incident, keep the date, time, identified number, recording when lawful, and a short note about the surrounding events. Preserve related messages and voicemails in their original form. Avoid editing original recordings or screenshots.
Escalate with context
MaskOff records have been introduced as evidence in US court proceedings.
